Hillsboro City Council Approves the Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan

The Hillsboro City Council put their final stamp of approval on the new Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan at the June 21 City Council meeting marking the end of the three year process to renew the Hillsboro 2020 Vision and Action Plan.

A new website, currently under development and nearly complete, will be live around the first week of August. Be sure to visit the Hillsboro 2035 booth at Celebrate Hillsboro on Saturday, August 8th and be one of the first people to pick up copy of the new Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan, a Hillsboro 2035 Frisbee and an insulated Hillsboro 2035 shopping bag!

  1. Reduce student-to-teacher classroom ratios
  2. Complete gaps in the sidewalk network
  3. Extend seasonal access to farmers markets
  4. Promote first-rate schools and infrastructure to help attract high-wage employers
  5. Encourage new development to be walkable
  6. Improve bicycle commute and recreation infrastructure
  7. Maintain dedicated funds for road repair and enhancement
  8. Restore buildings, modernize and increase public amenities downtown
  9. Implement a west side connection solution to reduce traffic between Highway 26 and I-5
  10. Add off-street walking, running and hiking trails citywide
